Ryan Nesbitt – Head Football Coach, Jackson Missouri

This is Ryan Nesbitt’s second season as the Head Football Coach at Jackson High School.

Prior to coming to Jackson, Coach Nesbitt served as the Head Football Coach at Troy Buchanan High School for the past 9 years. During his time with the Trojans he led them to their first winning season since 1992 during the 2018 football season, 2 district championship appearances with 1 title and 1 Class 6 Final 4 appearance in 2021. The Trojans finished ranked in the Top 10 poll each of the past two seasons. Over the last 5 seasons the Trojans won 64% of their games. The Trojans finished 2014 with a roster of 55 players and will have 150 young men playing football in ’23. Coach Nesbitt finished his time at Troy as the schools All-Time winningest coach.

Coach Nesbitt began his coaching career in 2009 at Lafayette County High School, a Class 2 school in Higginsville Missouri. In 2010, Coach Nesbitt continued his career at Bowling Green High School, a Class 3 school in Bowling Green Missouri. In 2011, Coach Nesbitt returned to his High School alma mater to coach at Columbia Hickman High School a Class 6 school in Columbia Missouri.

Coach Nesbitt is originally from Columbia Missouri and was a 2005 graduate of Hickman High School. During his time in high school, Coach Nesbitt was a dual sport athlete participating in Football and Baseball where he was named a two time All-State football player and All-District/All-Area baseball player. In 2005 the Kewpies went 11-1 winning the Class 6 Football State Championship and finished 28-2 in the spring winning the Class 5 Baseball State Championship. After graduation coach Nesbitt attended the University of Central Missouri playing for the Mules. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education in 2010. Coach Nesbitt completed his Masters in Athletic Administration in 2018.

Coach Nesbitt resides in Jackson with his wife of 10 years, Kara. Kara works for Edge Realty in Jackson. They have 3 daughters Reese (8), Kendall (5), & Kyle (2).
