Brent Eckley-Head Football Coach, Jackson Missouri


Brent Eckley has been the head coach at Jackson High School for seven years where he has compiled a 57-21 record, three state quarterfinal appearances and have five top ten finishes in Class five. In 19 years as a head coach his overall record of 158-53 and includes thirteen playoff appearances.  

Coach Eckley started his coaching career in 1995 at Hickman Mills High School, a class four high school in Kansas City, Missouri where he coached quarterbacks for two years.  

In 1997, Coach Eckley continued his career at Warrensburg High School, a class four high school in Warrensburg, Missouri.  He coached the offensive line and was the offensive coordinator.  

In 2000, Coach Eckley became the Head Coach at Montgomery County High School, a class three high school in Montgomery City, Missouri where he compiled a 39-14 record, the best in the school's history.
  
In 2005, Coach Eckley was named the Head Football Coach at Union High School, a class four high school in Union, Missouri. Eckley led Union to a remarkable 62 and 18 record as coach of the Wildcats.  During his time at Montgomery County and Union, the high school football programs became well known, especially for their record setting offenses.  

During his career, Coach Eckley has helped to produce 58 college bound football players, including the former starting quarterback at the University of Colorado and University of Kansas, Jordan Webb, and Eric Czerniewski, the 2010 Division II player of the year and 2010 Harlon Hill Winner.  Eckley has also coached 41 all state football players.  Coach Eckley has also been named district coach of the year and conference coach of the year multiple times.

Coach Eckley is a regular presenter for Glazier and Nike Football Clinics. He has also been chosen to produce a video series on his winning coaching philosophies.  Coach Eckley has also served as the President of the Missouri Football Coaches Association.

 
Originally from Iowa, Coach Eckley graduated from Pekin High School in 1988 where he contributed to the school's history with all-state honors in both football and basketball.  After graduation he continued his education at William Penn University majoring in elementary education.  At William Penn, Coach Eckley continued his playing career starting the 1991 season as an offensive lineman, and starting as a defensive lineman in 1992 for the Statesmen. He graduated in 1993 with a BA in elementary education and certification to teach 1st through 8th grade.  Coach Eckley is also certified in K-12 physical education and holds a BFS certification as strength and conditioning coach.  Coach Eckley finished his Masters in Educational Administration in 2010.

Coach Eckley resides in Jackson with his wife of 27 years, Sherene, who also works for the Jackson School District. Together they have four daughters, one son, and one granddaughter. The Eckley children are: Hannah Eckley (daughter is Payson), Emily, Madison, Hillary and Marquis.
